MB-70HI Entry Door

MB-70HI is Aluprof’s value-tier thermally-broken aluminum entry door system at 70 mm build depth. The system uses extruded aluminum profiles with single-strip polyamide thermal break geometry to achieve Ud = 1.2 W/(m²K) with standard double-pane glazing. The HI designation indicates the higher-thermal variant within the single-strip family, compared to the base MB-70 at Ud = 1.3 W/(m²K).

The single-strip thermal break uses one polyamide strip per profile to separate the interior and exterior aluminum halves. This is the same approach as the MB-70 base variant but with profile geometry optimization that delivers the 0.1 W/(m²K) improvement on the HI variant. Both single-strip systems are less thermally efficient than the multi-chamber thermal break on the MB-79N SI+ and MB-86N SI premium models.

The MB-70HI specification does not include a thermal insulation insert in the slab core — a primary cost-saving difference from the premium models (MB-86N SI, D-ART Line, MB-79N SI+), all of which include slab-core inserts. The absence of the insert is the primary technical contributor to the Ud difference at the same 70 mm depth.

The seal configuration uses 2 EPDM perimeter gaskets. The aluminum threshold with thermal break strip is standard. Thermal performance of Ud = 1.2 W/(m²K) is achieved with standard double-pane argon glazing at Ug = 1.1 W/(m²K); upgrading to triple-pane at Ug = 0.5 W/(m²K) reduces the Ud to approximately 1.0 W/(m²K).

Hardware includes 3-point multi-point locking, 3 two-leaf hinges, aluminum handle, mounting cylinder, and Smart Lock / electronic strike compatibility. Hidden hinges are not available on the MB-70HI specification; projects requiring hidden-hinge aesthetics should specify MB-86N SI with the hidden hinge upgrade or D-ART Line. Color options include over 200 RAL colors in matte and gloss powder coat, anodized finishes, and wood-grain decorative coatings on selected colors — the same program across the entire MB-series line.
