The foamed-EPDM central gasket is the technical differentiator. Standard solid EPDM seals are used across the residential PVC category; the foamed version uses a closed-cell foam construction that compresses more evenly across the full perimeter of the sash. The result on a real building:

Full technical detail
IGLO ENERGY is a 7-chamber Class A PVC tilt-turn window system built on the 82 mm depth profile platform shared with IGLO EDGE and IGLO ENERGY CLASSIC. The system uses an extruded PVC profile manufactured exclusively from primary material (no recycled PVC core) with embedded steel reinforcement for structural performance.
The defining technical feature is the foamed-EPDM central gasket — the first window system in the world to use a foamed (closed-cell) EPDM central seal between the interior and exterior solid EPDM perimeter gaskets. The foamed construction provides more even compression distribution across the full sash perimeter than a solid EPDM gasket of the same nominal thickness, improving air infiltration and water tightness under wind pressure. The compression-set characteristic also extends the functional sealing life beyond typical solid-EPDM service life.
Thermal performance of Uw = 0.71 W/(m²K) is achieved through the 7-chamber frame geometry, the standard double-chamber triple-pane IGU at Ug = 0.5 W/(m²K), the Swisspacer Ultimate warm-edge spacer (free upgrade), and the foamed-EPDM central gasket system. The Uw is slightly higher (less favorable) than IGLO EDGE at 0.66, but air infiltration and water tightness ratings exceed the other 7-chamber siblings.
Acoustic insulation ranges from 37 dB to 46 dB depending on the glazing package. Standard hardware is MACO MULTI-MATIC KS with Silber-Look anti-corrosion coating, 4 anti-burglary engagement points (count varies with sash size and hardware), and sash position blocker. Aluminum window handle standard, with Smart Home compatible electronic handle upgrades available.
Factory color options are white and brown as standard PVC. Anthracite and modern colors are handled through the Renolit foil program (full wood-grain finishes and custom RAL matching); interior and exterior faces can be specified in different colors. Operation types include tilt-turn, fixed, tilt-only, side-hung, and top-hung, plus custom geometric shapes (arched, trapezoid, circular).
Application range is residential new build and replacement, multi-family, and light commercial across the Northeast US climate envelope — particularly coastal, hilltop, and exposed-elevation installations where wind-driven rain and air infiltration are primary concerns. NFRC-equivalent thermal data, wind load ratings, and water tightness ratings are available for code compliance submission and structural review.
